I initially left a 1-star review for Allstate Insurance due to a frustrating and disappointing experience. For starters, I was paying far more for my home and auto insurance than I should have been compared to other companies. Upon reviewing my policy, I discovered that a driver who doesn’t even belong to my household had been added—something I never approved. This added mistake made me feel even more frustrated, as it contributed to the higher premiums I was being charged.
However, after posting my review, I was contacted by Derek Wright, a manager at Allstate, and I have to say his response was impressive. Derek took the time to thoroughly explain what had gone wrong with my policy, walking me through each issue I had raised. He clarified how the extra driver was mistakenly added and apologized for the error. Derek’s level of professionalism and attention to detail really stood out to me. It’s not often you come across someone willing to go the extra mile to ensure a customer’s concerns are fully addressed.
While I appreciated Derek’s explanation and his courteous approach, I still feel the pricing with Allstate is higher than what’s available with other insurers. Even after removing the extra driver from my policy, the overall cost was still more than I expected, especially when compared to quotes I’ve received from other companies. It’s one of the main reasons I decided to switch insurance providers.
That said, the customer service I received from Derek really changed my perspective. His professionalism and ability to address my concerns in such a detailed manner showed that Allstate does care about their customers, even when things go wrong. For Derek’s efforts alone, I’ve decided to update my review to 4 stars. I may not be a customer anymore due to the pricing, but I want to acknowledge the high level of service and professionalism I received during this process.

In July, I discovered that my elderly mother’s insurance had lapsed for many months. When I called to see what could be done, David Mason was remarkably helpful. He understood the situation and had compassion for the extreme worry this was causing my mother. He worked with the corporate ladder to reestablish a policy, in this challenging circumstance, within a matter of hours. I could not have asked for more caring and efficient service. Georges was amazing! After 2 weeks of calling the 1-866 number to get an explanation of why I am being harassed for non payment when the funds are available, he finally was the one to explain it! It's because Allstate no longer accepts debit visa. He was the SIXTH person I spoke to. It took that many times to get someone as competent as him. Each time was 30 minute wait time. So I should bill Allstate for 3 hours of my time they waisted. Scammers. THANK YIU GEORGES!!!! You saved me from the loop of doom I'd been stuck in.
