Only reason this is one star is because I can’t put 0. I used to work in the insurance field, and know and understand that certain times are busier than others and that there is not always enough hands for the load. However, my experience with this company and their customer service has been one of the worst. I have been with Allstate for quite some years now, they were affordable, and never had issues- until I put in a claim. The affordable prices are not worth the grief and headache that I have experienced after putting in a claim. We had a home fire that we reported, day of, June 1st. I’ve never done an insurance claim before so didn’t know what to expect. I never received any communication until 5 days later, when I called because nothing had been done. The first adjuster I talked to, made me feel like I was in an interrogation room and had done something wrong. Despite that, They finally assigned a reatoration company (PuroClean, who was amazing) but because of Allstates delays PuroClean never came until June 11th- resulting in us having to do a large portion of demolition and cleaning. We were then passed on to a second adjuster who was amazing, but when I tried to get ahold of her beginning of July- no responses…finally got her voicemail indicating she would be out of office for an undetermined amount of time. I was directed to contact another adjuster- whom I did, whose voicemail said they would be out of office for two weeks. Finally by July 31st after repeated calls I was assigned to a new adjuster Duane Magnuson. I sent him our SOL immediately, unfortunately with no response until Aug 7th, to tell me he did not receive my SOL. I re-sent it that day and then did not hear back, sent more emails and tried to call, to make sure he received it this time as well as to get answers to some questions. I never received anything until he wrote me Aug 16th, and only after I reached out to his supervisor Ian Marshall. The email I received back from Duane read “I already told you it would take a couple days, you need to be patient.” I have now waited 2.5months without anyone even looking at our SOL, and I must be patient? When I reached out to his supervisor, Ian again, explaining the rude email and continued lack of communication, never received any apology, only another blank statement of needing to be patient, and defending that there was no way someone could have told me that Duane hadn’t actually opened our SOL. Lo and behold Duane opened it finally that night, and proceeds to tell me that the SOL was too large for him to handle alone, so had to pass it on to a third party for help. We are now at Sept 5th, and although they have gone through the SOL, I still have not been able to close this case, or have not received any communication since Aug 22nd. I have now had to put in a request for help from the ombudsman. I will say there were a couple people who were kind and helpful from the regional service line Sarah, and Jordan. However, the communication and service by this company as a whole, was one of the worst in my experience with insurance. And the demeanour and service by Duane and Ian were seriously disappointing. Here’s to hoping for some resolution soon!

I have been with Allstate for a few years. At first, everything was great, with discounts, programs and offers, etc. Recently, I have completely changed my opinion on Allstate insurance. My car was in a hit and run, and I had no help from these guys whatsoever. Claim was canceled after sitting at idle (they called once while I was at work and was unable to answer) but never returned a call. I also tried to remove my truck as I sold it, and I just now noticed they never removed it either. I'm not happy with this company right now.
